Simply online in Bosnia – no extra costs
Whether you're visiting family, strolling through Sarajevo or spending time with friends – in Bosnia you stay connected at all times. With MTEL, you use mobile internet, calls and messages just as naturally – exactly as you know it from Switzerland.
Since Bosnia and Herzegovina is not part of the EU, classic EU roaming rules do not apply here. With the My World plans, you don’t need to worry about this: Bosnia is already included – without additional options and without activation.

So you stay connected at all times in Bosnia & Herzegovina
Bosnia & Herzegovina is not part of the EU roaming zone. With many providers, this can quickly lead to additional costs. MTEL is designed specifically for people who regularly travel between Switzerland and Bosnia & Herzegovina – whether visiting family, traveling, or going about daily life on site.

Use your plan in Bosnia & Herzegovina just like at home
With MTEL, you don’t need to activate an additional roaming package in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Your plan simply continues to work – for navigation, social media, messaging, and everything you need on the go.
This way, you stay reachable, keep full control over your costs, and don’t have to worry about unexpected charges.
Why MTEL instead of traditional roaming
Many mobile providers treat Bosnia & Herzegovina as a standard roaming zone: complicated, expensive, and often only usable with additional options.
MTEL takes a different approach – our plans are specifically designed for use between Switzerland and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

What is the difference between prepaid and postpaid?
The difference between prepaid and postpaid lies in the payment method. With prepaid, you have to load a credit balance in advance. You are billed from this. For postpaid, you pay the invoice in arrears. In the case of postpaid contracts, you also get an invoice at the end of the month and the amount is debited from your account. Postpaid contracts need a good credit rating. A credit check is therefore carried out immediately before concluding a contract.
Can I also use the internet elsewhere in the EU with my postpaid contract?
Yes, of course! Mobile internet is included in Switzerland, EU member states, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Montenegro with all our postpaid contracts.
Where can I take out a mobile phone contract?
In all MTEL shops, via our webshop at mtel.ch, at mobilezone, as well as by phone through our contact center on tel. +41784747470.
Are calls to Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. North Macedonia and Montenegro unlimited in all postpaid contracts?
Yes, but only to the MTEL zone networks („mts“ in Serbia, „m:tel“ in Bosnia and Hercegovina, MTEL in North Macedonia and m:tel in Montenegro)
Does “Roam Like Home” mean that you can also use mobile internet elsewhere in the EU at no extra charge?
Yes, of course! Depending on the plan, you can also use the included data in the EU as well as in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Montenegro.
Where can I find current promotions?
You can always find the best promotions for mobile telephony at Deals.
How can I check my mobile data usage?
You can check your mobile data usage in your MTEL customer profile or via the MTEL app. There you can see your remaining data, minutes, and SMS in real time.
