In all other respects, the processing of your personal data by us as controller will be governed by our data privacy notice.

 1. CONTROLLER

The controller for data processing purposes is MTEL Schweiz GmbH, Hagenholzstr. 81a, 8050 Zurich, Switzerland, datenschutz@mtel.ch. For questions or information requests on data protection at MTEL Switzerland, please do not hesitate to contact our data protection officer by post at the above address by adding “data protection” or by e-mail to datenschutz@mtel.ch. If you access third-party websites via a link or similar, these third parties will process your personal data in accordance with their own data privacy provisions.

 2. LOG DATA AND PURPOSES

When you visit our Website, we will, for technical reasons, process certain data in log files, such as e.g. your IP address, the time of access to our Website, the duration of the visit, the pages you called up (including banners and pop-up windows) and information about the terminal device used. We collect such personal data, in particular, to be able to provide the Website, for reasons of IT security and to improve the user-friendliness and for statistical purposes. In addition, we may process your IP address together with other log data to investigate unauthorised or improper use, in legal or regulatory proceedings and to enforce and defend legal claims and comply with legal requirements.

3. TYPES OF COOKIES AND PURPOSES

We use so-called “Cookies” on our Website, i.e. files that will be stored on your terminal device when you visit our Website, and similar technologies such as “pixels”, i.e. small text or image data (hereinafter jointly referred to as “Cookies”). Cookies are used to recognise visitors to our Website. We use various types of Cookies, including Cookies from third-party providers, which may also be located outside of Switzerland and the European Economic Area:

Necessary Cookies: Some Cookies are necessary for the functioning of the Website as such or of certain functions. For example, they ensure that you can switch between pages without losing information you entered in a form. They also make sure you stay logged in. These Cookies only exist temporarily (“Session Cookies”). If you block them (see Article 4), our Website might not function properly. Other Cookies are necessary so that the server can save decisions or entries made by you beyond one session (i.e. one visit to the Website) if you request this function (e.g. language selected, consent given, the function for automatic log-in etc.).

Performance Cookies: In order to optimise our website and our products and services and to better align them to the needs of users, we use Cookies to record and analyse the use of our Website, possibly even beyond the session. We do this through the use of analytics services rendered by third-party providers. An important service provider for us is Google. For further details on this, see below. Before we use such Cookies, we ask for your consent.

Marketing Cookies: We and our advertising contract partners have an interest in targeting advertising to certain target group, i.e. displaying it as far as possible only to those we want to address. For this purpose, we and our advertising contract partners will also use Cookies that are able to record the content accessed or contracts concluded – if you give your consent. This allows us and our advertising partners to display advertisements that we think will interest you on our Website, but also on other websites that display advertisements from us or our advertising partners. If you consent to the use of these Cookies, you will be shown corresponding advertising. If you do not consent to these Cookies, you will not see less advertising, but simply any other advertising.

4. DEACTIVATING COOKIES

When calling up our Website, you have the option of activating or deactivating the individual categories of cookies via a button displayed in the browser. You may also revoke any consent you have given us for the use of Cookies in the future via the cookie settings at mtel.ch/en/cookies. In addition, you can block the use of Cookies by deactivating or deleting Cookies in your browser settings.

5. GOOGLE ANALYTICS

This Website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA, USA) and Google Ireland Ltd (Google Building Gordon House, Barrow St, Dublin 4, Ireland; both jointly referred to as “Google”, with Google Ireland Ltd being responsible for the processing of personal data). “Cookies” set with Google Analytics allow for an analysis of your use of our Website. We have configured the service so that the IP addresses of visits to our Website are shortened by Google within Europe before being forwarded to the USA and thus cannot be traced. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the Website and compiling reports on Website activity for us. Google might, in this sense, be considered our processor. However, Google may also use this information for its own purposes and under its own responsibility.

6. SOCIAL PLUG-INS

Our website integrates contents from other providers that can be recognised by buttons of the respective providers (so-called plug-ins). Each time a page with such a button is called up, a connection will be established to the provider’s server, which is thereby informed that you have visited our Website with your IP address. If you click on the button and are logged into your account with the corresponding provider, the provider can assign your visit to our Website to you and your user account. We have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by the provider. For more information, please see the respective data privacy notice of the provider.

7. FURTHER INFORMATION, in particular on how to exercise your rights

For more information on the processing of your personal data, in particular on the transfer abroad, the storage period and what rights you have in connection with the processing of your personal data, please visit our data privacy notice.

8. CHANGES

MTEL reserves the right to change this Cookie Notice at any time. The current version published on the Website at mtel.ch/en/cookies shall be authoritative.
